We have been using some of the Aquasana brand water filters, one for our kitchen and one for our shower, but decided to go all out and get the whole house filtration system. They call it the Rhino EQ-300 whole house filter. This filter is more expensive ($800) but lasts three years and of all of the whole house filters that we did our research on what filter was the most effective and least expensive of the bunch.
You need a plumber to hook this one up but it is a one time deal and ran less that $150 to install. Our plumber put ours next to the water heater in the garage. After that we let it run for a few minutes and then we were good to go. We still use our countertop filter for the kitchen because we aren’t sure about the condition of the pipes in our older home and we like the idea of “double filtration”. This is the best filtration system we’ve ever had, we especially like the fact that the chlorine is taken out of our water and the kids can take a bath chlorine free and chlorine-free when doing our laundry will make our clothes brighter longer.
