We have been using some of  the Aquasana brand water filters, one for our kitchen and one for our shower, but decided to go all out and get the whole house filtration system. They call it the Rhino EQ-300 whole house filter.  This filter is more expensive ($800) but lasts three years and of all of the whole house filters that we did our research on what filter was the most effective and least expensive of the bunch.
